Establishment
The Opticianry Associate Degree Program in the Department of Medical Services and Techniques within the Vocational School of Health Services has been accepting students since the 2019-2020 academic year.
Graduates of the Opticianry program are awarded the title "Optician."
Admission and Registration Requirements
Students are admitted based on their TYT scores.
Transfers from other higher education institutions to the university are governed by the Regulation on Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Majors, Minors, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers, as well as decisions of the Council of Higher Education and the Senate. The adaptation of these students to their educational programs is carried out by the relevant unit management boards.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Those who complete their education in the educational programs are awarded an associate degree diploma, with the unit and department names announced. Graduation is the end date of the examination period specified in the academic calendar. Diplomas are signed by the Rector and the relevant department dean/director.
Program Profile
Our goal is to train healthcare professionals who can sell prescription eyeglasses, all types of lenses, optical vision devices, eyeglass frames, protective glasses, and sunglasses prescribed by authorized specialist physicians. Graduates of our Opticianry Program are the only authorized personnel to open optical shops. Graduates of this program earn the title of health technician. They can open their own businesses or find employment in the private sector.

Opticians work in businesses that make and sell eyeglasses.
Transfer to Further Education Programs
Transfer is possible with the DGS exam in the Department of Physics, Physics Engineering, and Optical and Acoustics Engineering.
